Sustainable Creative Engineering Training

HRDcorp

Welcome to the Sustainable Creative Engineering training page! Here we dive deep into the world of Creative Engineering. Creative Engineering is an approach that unites architecture, material science, and environmental sustainability with engineering and construction methods to transform how we live and work in spaces. Led by the founder of ODE, Dr. Kody Kato, this training provides a unique opportunity to discover the transformative power of Creative Engineering.

Event Overview

In this training session, you’ll learn about Creative Engineering principles and practices. We’ll be introduced to the world of Creative Engineering through the lens of Design, Technology, and Sustainability. Dr. Kody will share his knowledge and experience in Creative Engineering, connecting the dots between design, technology, and sustainability. In engaging presentations and hands-on discussions, we’ll explore how Creative Engineering shapes a more sustainable, innovative future.

Session 3: Sustainable Creative Engineering Training

Dr. Kody Kato, the founder of ODE, stands for “Office for Design Evolution”. Its name is translated as “Creative Engineering”. ODE is an evolutionary design approach that brings together architecture, material science the natural environment, engineering, and different construction methods to improve our living, working, and living spaces. Dr. Kato’s design philosophy was shaped by his experience working under Dr. Ken Yeang and Byoungsoo Choi, where he worked as the lead fabricator exploring crafts using local materials and developing computational design practices for high-rise structures. His hybrid design approach has been recognized by numerous international design committees, such as the London Design Awards, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) “Shinkenchiku International” the Residential Design Competition in Japan (CAADRIA), the “Space International” Competition in Seoul, the APAC Entrepreneur in Singapore, and ArchDaily.
